Chelation

Chelation comes from the Greek word 'claw', meaning to grab. On the ASD protocol a chelating agent (ALA, EDTA, DMSA, DMPS) is taken orally, intravenously or by suppository (God be with you if the latter is the route you have taken), and often a combination of two. The chelating agents travel through the bloodstream "grabbing" on to all minerals and metals, such as calcium, lead, mercury, cadmium, copper, aluminum and iron, binding them, removing them from the bloodstream, and delivering them to the kidneys, which excrete them in the urine.

If you were paying attention, you read that it removes minerals - meaning you have to supplement them - and that it relies on kidneys - meaning you need monitor them. If you were really paying attention, you should be asking yourself 'What about other toxins?' and 'What about the brain, muscles and other organs?' This is where oral clathration and Maxam's PCA-Rx comes into play.

Clathration

PCA-Rx is a natural, non-invasive alternative to chelation. PCA-Rx simulates natural bodily fluids in a way that allows it to bind all toxins, metals, bacterium and any other unwelcome guests. Because your body recognizes it as a bodily fluid, all bound 'guests' will flush out along with your urine, stool, breath and hair, without strain on liver and other organs, while leaving your minerals intact. For a low-dose protocol, you are waking up a child in the middle of the night for dosing. Candida Yeast Overgrowth

Candida yeast is a fungus that occurs naturally in the digestive and genital tracts, kept balanced by beneficial bacteria. When beneficial bacteria is damaged or destroyed, the yeast causes or contributes to thrush (a fungus infection of the throat and mouth), diaper rash, athlete's foot, jock itch, vaginal yeast infections, digestive problems, seasonal allergies, ringworm, nail fungus, and environmental sensitivities. Candida cells manufacture toxic chemicals that kill beneficial bacteria and its waste products include alcohols, acetone, and the nerve poison hydrogen sulfide, all of which slow the brain, contribute to fatigue, and disrupt the immune system.

 

Candida yeast is typically the result of antibiotic use, which kills the good bacteria, but it can also be found in children who haven't taken antibiotics and those delivered C-section, due to the lack of good bacteria usually established through vaginal delivery. In natural medicine, yeast on the outside is always indicative of intestinal Candida yeast overgrowth. Candida is often misdiagnosed as allergies, because it can manifest as rashes on the feet, face, underarm, underbelly, or genital areas.

 

Signs of Candida Yeast Overgrowth

Signs of an intestinal yeast overgrowth include but are not limited to the following. If you noticed your child in several of these statements (or even yourself) it is highly likely that you have Candida overgrowth:

 

 

Candida yeast overgrowth is one of the single-most difficult problems to treat, often requiring several treatments and years to control, usually by antifungals, both natural and prescription, in addition to rotating probiotics to replenish good bacteria monthly. Being a living organism, Candida yeast will continue to grow and mutate, so whatever your course of action, you need to be diligent because it will become harder and harder to treat effectively if you lapse treatment and the fungus mutates.

 

 

Using Diffusing or Fluconazole, a prescription antifungal, usually requires rounds every three weeks to keep Candida at bay. Unfortunately, Diflucan/ Fluconazole has been noted for its liver damage, so it requires doctor follow-up and labs for liver function.
