Down's Syndrome
Joey's Journey With Down's Syndrome - 10/12/2007
Christy,
Thank you and Julie so much for all the love, concern and support you have given us since we got started with your company.
Your level of caring and commitment is unsurpassed in my experience.
Good News!
It's been just over a week and Joey is making progress with the use of the PCM-Rx,NG-Rx and theproducts. He sat yesterday for over 20 minutes, on task, drawing with my wife. He never has been able to do that before, typically it's just a few minutes and he's done. NX-Rx
He is also more attentive and talkative.
Last night, I asked if he wanted a drink. He said "No, I'm fine." He typically answers with just one word and maybe 2 words once in a while.
It may not be a big deal to most, but that additional word was music to my ears.
I'll keep you posted as we take this journey together.
God Bless,

Joey’s Journey With Down’s Syndrome - update - 10/30/2007
Christy,
It's always great to talk to you.
As we discussed, Joey continues to make progress on a few fronts. As I wrote last time, he is now able to string 3 words together in a sentence. He also, for the first time, is attempting to wipe himself after going to the bathroom. That has never been on his radar screen before and that’s exciting for me. He also continues to try and mimic just about every word that is said around the house. He also is now being proactive in play. Just before I wrote this, he brought me 3 stuffed animals to play with. Last night, he brought my wife a ball he found that my other sons were using to juggle with about 6 months ago. He told my wife he wanted to juggle!
Baby steps....and very encouraging. Things so far are unfolding the way you and Julie said they would.
More to come. Stay tuned :) God Bless,

This From A Hopeful Nikki
Dear Jim,
I am the mom of a child who has Down's Syndrome and autism. Just had to let you know that my son is doing very well on your new formula...definitely better than the older version. I cannot deny that my child is definitely doing better cognitively on AFX. My only other concern is the nitrogen thing, our Down's Syndrome kids may well have excess ammonia/uric acid and as such this could be a bit problematic for him...yet, I have read that those on the autism spectrum may well have lower nitrogen...so I am doing a balancing act between treating Down's Syndrome and autism..not an easy job!
Anyway, just had to say 'thanks' for a job well done!

A Great Follow Up From Nikki 'n Cody
Dear Jim,
Thank you so much for your newest AFX. We have now been on this new formula for about 2 months and have seen a steady rise in our son's abilities. He is now a lot more "with it", in terms of better eye contact and has become more social.
He just started an ABA program and together with this formula he is able to sit at a desk and actually do desk work, which he has never been able to do before. He is thinking in a more complex manner (e.g., tried to comb dad's hair; gave dad his tie since dad was putting on his shirt). While these things may seem very minor to some, I can only tell you that never before has our child done any outward expressions of putting things like comb/hair or shirt/tie together.
The AFX formula is allowing us to pull our child from his one dimension world into our world. Thanks so much for this one Jim, it's made a huge difference in our son and in our personal lives. We feel like we are getting to know the child we always knew existed but could never reach. I've told as many people as will listen to me about your new formula, and can only hope that they will give it a try as well. By the way, my son has Down's syndrome and Autism.
